Robert J. SchmierPresident and Co-Founder
Robert J. Schmier is President of Schmier & Feurring Properties, a diversified real estate investment and development company. Bob co-founded the firm in 1981 with business partner Doug Feurring. Bob has been an active owner, acquirer and developer of retail, office, industrial, single family residential and other related businesses throughout Michigan and south Florida. He has been principally involved in all phases of acquisition, development, construction, financing, leasing and management. Bob's creativity, professionalism and acumen are an integral part of the firm's culture and success.
Prior to co-founding Schmier & Feurring Properties, Bob was a single family custom home builder in suburban Detroit. He earned a JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1972 and a BA from University of Michigan in 1969. Bob is a former Chairman of the Boca Raton Housing Authority as well as a former member of the Board of Trustees and former Chairman of the Building Committee for Temple Beth El in Boca Raton, Florida.
Douglas R. FeurringChief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Douglas R. Feurring is CEO of Schmier & Feurring Properties, a diversified real estate investment and development firm. Doug co-founded the firm in 1981 with business partner Robert Schmier. Doug has been an active owner, acquiror and developer of retail, office, industrial, single family residential and other related businesses throughout Michigan and south Florida. He has been principally involved in all phases of acquisition, development, construction, leasing and management. Doug's determination and detailed eye are hallmarks of the firm's culture and success.
Prior to co-founding Schmier & Feurring Properties, Doug was Vice President of Land Realty and Investment Company, a Michigan broker specializing in vacant land and commercial property sales. He earned a BS from Michigan State University in 1976. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Boca Raton Museum and Evergreen Media Corp. and a former member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation B'nai Israel.
Brian S. SchmierExecutive Vice President
Brian S. Schmier is Executive Vice President of Schmier & Feurring Properties. Brian returned to Florida and joined the family business in 2002. He oversees the firm's operations including acquisitions, development, construction, asset management and leasing. Before returning to Florida, Brian was an investment banker handling mergers and acquisitions with Colonnade Advisors in Chicago. Prior, he was an Associate with Deloitte/HOLT Value Associates and an investment banker with J.P. Morgan & Co.
Brian received a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Northwestern University.
Kathryn A. LopezTreasurer and Director of Personnel
Kathryn Lopez is Treasurer and Director of Personnel for Schmier & Feurring Properties. She was the first employee when she joined the company in its infancy in 1983. As Treasurer, she is responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, insurance and cash management for the firm and its third party clients. Kathy additionally oversees human resources, internal procedures and recordkeeping. She employs a hands-on approach working with business partners, third party clients, institutional partners and lenders. Her broad experience with asset management, property management and construction accounting are reflecting in the Company's daily practices and her commitment to the staff and ownership are embodied in the company culture.
Shana PasasDirector of Leasing, Schmier and Feurring Realty, Inc.
Shana Pasas has over 15 years of leasing experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining the Company, she was an Associate Broker with The Shopping Center Group in Miami, Florida, handling third party leasing and advisory services for institutional, local and regional owners. Previously, she was a Regional VP of Leasing with Centro Properties Group in Lighthouse Point, FL, leasing the South Florida portfolio. Prior to transferring to Florida in 2007, Shana was with Centro in Atlanta, GA where she managed the Southeast Regional Office operations and leased the Southeast portfolio. Shana was a Senior Associate in Leasing with Collins Goodman Development Company, LLC in Atlanta, GA. At Trammell Crow Company she was a Senior Associate, managing their 3rd Party Retail Leasing Department and for clients including RREEF, Invesco, GE Capital Real Estate, UBS Global Real Estate and TA Associates Realty. Shana began her leasing career as a Leasing Representative with JDN Realty
Corporation in Atlanta, GA.
Shana holds a B.A. in Speech Communication and a Minor in Journalism from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She is a four-time recipient of the NAIOP Georgia Chapter Million Dollar Club Retail Category 'Top Five Producer' Award. She was a Co-Founder of the ICSC Retail Connections Program and has held numerous ICSC state level leadership positions. She currently serves on Florida The Retail Bus Tour Program Committee.
Paula WinkerCo-owner of Studio Seven and Schmier & Feurring Properties consultant for construction
Paula Winker serves as Construction Manager for Schmier & Feurring Properties. She is also a partner in Studio Seven Architecture and Construction. Paula is a licensed general contractor and has been actively involved in commercial development and construction in south Florida since 1983. She is responsible for all ground-up construction and supervises all tenant improvement work. Her development resume is a diverse portfolio including churches, synagogues, schools, residential communities and over 1,000,000 square feet of retail and office.
Paula earned her Masters degree from The Ohio State University and her undergraduate degree from Nebraska State College. Paula serves as an Associate on the Peace and Justice Committees for the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin and also works with local bereavement support programs.
