Executive Team
Bob has been an active owner, acquirer and developer of retail, office, industrial, single family residential and other related businesses throughout Michigan and south Florida. He has been principally involved in all phases of acquisition, development, construction, financing, leasing and management. Bob's creativity, professionalism and acumen are an integral part of the firm's culture and success. Prior to co-founding Schmier & Feurring Properties, Bob was a single family custom home builder in suburban Detroit. He earned a JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1972 and a BA from University of Michigan in 1969. Bob is a former Chairman of the Boca Raton Housing Authority as well as a former member of the Board of Trustees and former Chairman of the Building Committee for Temple Beth El in Boca Raton, Florida.
Robert J. Schmier
President and Co-Founder
Doug co-founded the firm in 1981 with business partner Robert Schmier. Doug has been an active owner, acquiror and developer of retail, office, industrial, single family residential and other related businesses throughout Michigan and south Florida. He has been principally involved in all phases of acquisition, development, construction, leasing and management. Doug's determination and detailed eye are hallmarks of the firm's culture and success. Prior to co-founding Schmier & Feurring Properties, Doug was Vice President of Land Realty and Investment Company, a Michigan broker specializing in vacant land and commercial property sales. He earned a BS from Michigan State University in 1976. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Boca Raton Museum and Evergreen Media Corp. and a former member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation B'nai Israel.
Douglas R. Feurring
CEO and Co-Founder
Brian returned to Florida and joined the family business in 2002. He oversees the firm's operations including acquisitions, development, construction, asset management and leasing. Before returning to Florida, Brian was an investment banker handling mergers and acquisitions with Colonnade Advisors in Chicago. Prior, he was an Associate with Deloitte/HOLT Value Associates and an investment banker with J.P. Morgan & Co. Brian received a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Northwestern University.
Brian S. Schmier
Executive Vice President
is the Controller for Schmier & Feurring Properties. Brandi joined the company in 2018. She comes to us with over 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Brandi is responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, insurance and cash management for the firm and its third-party clients. Additionally, she oversees human resources, internal procedures, and recordkeeping. She also serves as the liaison with our business partners and works with them when developing property budgets and financials.
Brandi Serin
Controller
is the Executive Assistant to the Principals, Bob Schmier and Doug Feurring. Dominique joined the company in 2006 and oversees the day-to-day operations of the office. She handles the due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and lender financing for the retail and multi-family projects. She also serves as the point person for our lenders, partners and investor needs.
